The Captain Willis Shrimp Boat oil on canvas 24” X 36” This is the view of the shrimp boat and dock as seen from inside the Crab Shack Seafood Restaurant at Indian Beach/Salter Path, NC and looking to the northeast. The sky is simply underpainted in this version, its not finished, but I love the colors and the feel for this boat. I’ve more to do to tighten up a few things, like adding dock lines, it’s always a good idea to check your lines! Right, Alan? Please check back soon!
The Persimmon oil on canvas in progress 36” X 48” There is much to do here, from completing all of the rigging on the four masted, steel hull barque to getting that sky and water to sing just as I want it. Having all the marine details correct is fun, and there are lots of things to pay attention to on such a ship. I hesitate to show some of my paintings in progress, but this one is looking good and I’m happy.
I’m interested in making large, beautiful works of art. Perhaps we can connect for the creation of a special painting, portrait, or a gift commission? Let’s talk! I’m an easy person to talk with, not your stereotypical artist, and I possess a wide range of skill and techniques, and an amazing amount of creativity! Put me to work for you! All of the classic artists we so admire relied on patrons to help them make their great works of art. What could the two of us accomplish? I’l show more in the weeks to come, refining this page and site often. Thanks for taking time to visit! -Jack above is one of my life size oil portraits, on linen. See my portrait work HERE!
New Bern Sunset oil on canvas 24” X 48” From quality time on the water, here’s a pretty sunset painting underway. I’ll add enough detail to make the downtown New Bern waterfront buildings recognizable. Frankly, this photo doesn’t do the painting nor the sunset justice. I’ll replace it when I’ve added more. Please check back soon!
