I’m interested in making large, beautiful works of art. Perhaps we can connect for the creation of a special painting, portrait, or a gift commission? Let’s talk! I’m an easy person to talk with, not your stereotypical artist, and I possess a wide range of skill and techniques, and an amazing amount of creativity! All of the classic artists we so admire relied on patrons to help them make their great works of art. What could the two of us accomplish? I’l show more in the weeks to come, refining this page and site every day. Thanks for taking time to visit! -Jack To the left is one of my life size oil portraits, on linen. see my portrait work HERE!
Up the Trent River oil on canvas / 16” x 20“ $400 unframed Up the river, you eventually come to a place where you can turn left or right, to port or to starboard. Just ahead at that juncture is a pretty zone that’s fun to explore when the water isn’t too low. The area can be entered from either direction and this view is what you see from the left entrance. We drifted and fished along the inner channel and exitied the other side, back into the main Trent River. I plan to do more pleain air painting in that pretty area this year. It’s a lovely place, with no houses in near sight. Shhh!
The Old Trent Swing Bridge / New Bern oil on canvas / 9” x 18“ $250 unframed (actually it is matted, ready to frame under glass) I made several versions of this old bridge. There was a sign on the road near the bridge that read,”DRAW BRIDGE”. I always wished I had taken a photo (we didn’t call them selfies then) of me standing next to that sign while I was actually drawing the bridge. During a Plein Aire event one year I started a larger nocturne of this similar view but it was mid day and I was painting in dark tones --people thought I was crazy or something. Eventually, with enough detail they realized it was a night view. I believe it sold right off --I’d love to know who has it!

Columbus Beach / Saint Croix oil on linen / 10” x 18“ SOLD To illustrate previous plein air works, the paintings above and below were made in Saint Croix a few years ago. I particularly like the nocturne below. A nice set!
Pale Purple Iris oil on linen / 10” x 18“ SOLD I love painting flowers, and I’m so glad spring is on its way. I’ll be out painting some of the wonders blooming all around us.
